I’m only at the part where he recommends leashing your dog to you for about 2 hours a day for 2 weeks so the dog learns to respect your boundaries and interacts with you. As far as dog training goes you will always get a different end pattisson you use a different means; even if the guy has good intentions, aversive or corrective methods are not going to result in as confident and unafraid of a dog as positive training methods. Leashing them and keeping them close to you is probably more bothersome to them than beneficial.
I see where it’s coming from, as oftentimes it’s encouraged to leash your puppies so they don’t wander off to do naughty things, and then they are right next to you if you do need to correct them in anyway.

On the phone he said that they used affection and petting as a reward, but it was pretty clear to me in the class that the dogs did not want to unleasheed touched by him. It is a good book.
